Banquet Manager - 07/01/22

Overall Job Purpose • Oversees daily events and conferences operations, through staff planning, work scheduling, inventory management. • Discussing sales contract details with the GC&E and the chef. • Planning the venue layout according to the number of guests and the type of event and planning staff accordingly. • Finalizes billing process for all groups in accordance with contracts • Answering customers' questions and accommodating special requests. • Manages departmental inventories, from beverage records to control liquor costs to AV and material perpetual inventory. • Conducts monthly department meetings with the Banquet team for overall performance evaluation, and weekly meetings for daily overview on operations. • The Banquet Manager is an adaptable asset to the Food & Beverage team, showing flexibility to answer operational needs depending on activity. That employee is deployable in any other F&B department were needed or requested .

Compétences requises:   Competencies • Have a working knowledge of service standards, procedures and techniques for executing banquet event orders to include banquet /meeting room set up, preparation, service and follow-up. • Skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observation, and interpersonal skills. • Committed, proactive banquet manager who would enjoy work in an exciting, fast-paced environment. Hands-on manager, able to support teams on the floor when necessary • Great Organizational skills, anticipating needs for proper execution of events • Customer service-oriented • Excellent team leader Qualifications, Skills & Experience • Fluent in either English or French, and good skills in the other. Third language is a plus. • Adaptability - Maintaining performance level under pressure or when experiencing changes or challenges in the workplace. • Service experience • Previous hotel business experience • Knowledge of systems such as Opera and Marsha for event planning • Experienced in team management, from scheduling to trainings. Candidate profile Minimum 2-year experience in similar role. Principal Accountabilities • Directs and regular reports to the F&B Manager, on team satisfaction, overall performance, input & ideas. • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. • Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors. • Identify opportunities to increase profits and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change. • Reviews quarterly Events Satisfaction Surveys and participates in the development and implementation of corrective action to address service challenges; focuses on continuous improvement of guest satisfaction. • Provide services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention. • Interviews and hires Banquet associates with appropriate skills. • Responsible for inventory of the banquet department, requisitions and orders on a regular basis.
