Front Office Manager - 23/04/18

Main purpose of job The Front Office Manager is in charge of the Front Office Reception Team, their daily operations and needs to have a short and long term vision of the overall picture. He/she thinks independently, dare to ask questions and take his/her own initiative. He/she is engaged and personal with our guests and colleagues. The primary task, together with the reception team, is to create a consistently good atmosphere and service for our hotel guests. He/she needs to be incessantly on their toes to ensure that high quality service is provided by his/her team, while ensuring that it operates efficiently, effectively and respects the different targets set by the General Manager. Responsibilities / Tasks: • Providing a safe working environment, motivating his/her staff members and lead the team by example to ensure that the Front Office team gives excellent guest service that encourages guests to return and to recommend our property. • Scheduling staff according to operations and the “Duty shifts” organisation of the hotel. • Ensuring the good functioning of all the cameras, training on H&S procedures, reporting of incident to management and other Thon properties and ensuring that we are prepared for full evacuations and other emergency situations. • Coordinating front office meetings on a regular basis, doing yearly performance reviews with all front office staff and drawing up training plans • Managing room balance accordingly to management strategy and strictly controlling no show, cancelation, early departure and up-selling opportunities to optimise revenue. • Ensuring that the service is adapted to the special needs of our guests (VIPs, customer with disabilities, special requests, etc). • Actively searching for the right candidates to complete the department’s need, organizing interviews and the necessary red-tape related to this process. • Taking actively part in the planning of the budget and other departmental related investments. • Dealing with customer complaints quickly, confidently, effectively and appropriately.

Vereiste vaardigheden:   Skill set we are looking for: You are flexible, initiative-oriented and thrive in a hectic working environment. • Experience in the service industry is a must, preferably in the Front Office department • You are always reviewing/optimising processes, services, organisation and procedures • Good communication skills, both written and oral in English and French is mandatory and any other languages will be a +. • Knowledge of OPERA or similar PMS is necessary and Protime and /or BOB is a +! • You are operational and leading by example as this is part of your uniform • You are positive and you are able to bring this over to your team • You are up for a nice and challenging opportunity!
